Description For Service Engineer

Microsoft Advertising Trust and Safety is seeking a Service Engineer to join their team in a role that combines technical expertise with customer service excellence. This position involves providing advanced technical support for Microsoft's global advertising sales teams, focusing primarily on paid search results appearing on Bing and partner platforms like AOL and Yahoo!

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical troubleshooting abilities and a passion for customer service. Key responsibilities include conducting deep technical investigations, resolving complex performance issues, and working closely with platform development teams to improve product quality. You'll be expected to handle customer issues within SLA parameters, participate in bug bashes, create documentation, and contribute to product improvements through bug reporting and feature testing.

The role offers a competitive base salary range of $84,200 - $165,200 USD (higher in SF Bay Area and NYC: $109,000 - $180,400) and includes comprehensive benefits. Working in a hybrid environment with up to 50% work from home flexibility, you'll be part of Microsoft's mission to empower every person and organization on the planet.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience), 1+ years of tier 3 technical support or software development experience, and proficiency in C# for developing automation tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale cloud systems and knowledge of display/native/video advertising.

Responsibilities For Service Engineer

  • Perform deep technical investigations to solve complex performance issues for Microsoft Advertising customers and partners
  • Resolve customer issues in accordance with SLAs, balancing speed and quality
  • Contribute to product improvements by filing bugs and design change requests
  • Drive root cause analysis and service improvements
  • Compose service alerts and issue visibility correspondence
  • Support effective rollouts of new pilots and features
  • Participate in Engineering led bug bashes
  • Create process documentation for support teams
  • Conduct escalation data and trend analysis

Requirements For Service Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree or Trade Certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ years experience with customer facing tier 3 technical support or software development organization
  • 1+ years experience developing tools and automation in C# to improve operational efficiency
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
