Description For SoC Hardware Validation Engineer

Microsoft's Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is seeking a Senior SoC Hardware Validation Engineer to join their cutting-edge silicon computing development team. This role is crucial in delivering custom SoC designs that power Microsoft's extensive cloud infrastructure and online services.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on post-silicon validation, including functional, electrical, and power/performance aspects for various projects within Microsoft. As a technical individual contributor, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing validation strategies, debug tools, and test methodologies for complex SoC designs.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of technical engineering experience or equivalent education with strong expertise in CPU/SOC validation, platform-level knowledge, and Python development. You'll work with state-of-the-art technology and collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, logic designers, and verification engineers.

Responsibilities For SoC Hardware Validation Engineer

  • Own post-silicon validation of functional, electrical, or power/performance areas
  • Define and implement silicon debug tools and capabilities
  • Develop validation strategy, requirements, environments, tools, and methodologies
  • Write and implement test plans by developing test content, scripts, tools
  • Execute content in post-silicon, triage and debug failures
  • Collaborate with architects, logic designers, verification engineers
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship
  • Develop and maintain validation infrastructure

Requirements For SoC Hardware Validation Engineer

Python
Linux
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of CPU/SOC validation experience
  • 3+ years of platform level knowledge
  • 3+ years of Script/Software development experience using Python
  • Understanding of SoC subsystem and platform level functionality
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Experience with hardware/software debug
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and CPU/SoC validation principles
