Software Engineer (Internship)

Mistral AI is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join their engineering team in Paris. This 3-6 month internship offers an opportunity to learn the specifics of AI software and build internal and external tooling. The ideal candidate will have excellent full-stack development skills (Python/Typescript/Javascript), strong ability in creating smooth user experiences, and an appetite for constructing AI-based solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing user-facing internal and external applications using Mistral AI models for various LLM purposes (chatbot, search engines, document answering)
• Instrumenting Mistral AI products with developer-facing tools (e.g. dashboards, evaluation interfaces)

Qualifications:

• Excellent full-stack development skills (Python/Typescript/Javascript)
• Strong ability to create high-quality user experiences for both developer and end-user facing products
• Experience in front-end development, mastering frameworks like ReactJS, Svelte, Vue.js, or HTMX
• Strong Python back-end development skills and clean code implementations
• Appetite for AI-based solutions using chat APIs, embedding APIs, etc.
• Quick adaptation to new technologies and evolving development environments

The interview process includes:

1. Submitting a GitHub repository and completing a mandatory project

3. System Design Interview
4. Interview with the Engineering Team Lead
