MongoDB is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to join their Professional Services team. This role involves working with customers of all sizes across various industries to implement MongoDB solutions. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of software development or consulting experience, strong problem-solving skills, and expertise in at least one programming language such as Java, C#, Python, Node.js, Ruby, or Go.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to customer implementations throughout the application lifecycle
- Delivering classroom-based training to architects, developers, and operations roles
- Working as part of a delivery team with other consulting engineers and project managers
- Becoming a field expert in MongoDB technologies
- Communicating complex technical proposals to various audiences
- Ensuring client success with MongoDB endeavors
- Influencing MongoDB product development based on field experience
The role offers opportunities to solve technically sophisticated problems, gain cross-stack experience, and work with industry leaders. It can be based out of the Chicago office or remotely in the North America region.
MongoDB offers a competitive salary range of $101,000 - $198,000 USD for this position, along with benefits such as equity, flexible PTO, parental leave, health benefits, and more.

Responsibilities For Senior Consulting Engineer
- Contribute to customer implementations at all phases of the application lifecycle
- Deliver customer classroom-based training

- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the MongoDB product roadmap

Requirements For Senior Consulting Engineer
- 10+ years of software development/consulting/support experience
- Competence in at least one of: Java, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Go
- Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- Confidence speaking and presenting in a collaborative customer setting
- Capability and comfort with frequent travel for short trips to customer sites
