Senior Mobile Engineer

Moonvalley is building the next generation creative studio, powered by the most capable video and image foundational models in the world. We are creating the platforms where the first generative Super Bowl ads and Oscar winning movies will be created.

We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer based in Toronto or the surrounding region. At Moonvalley, our product philosophy is to move quickly and iterate. You'll work at breakneck speeds with the team (product designer, developers, product manager) to take ownership, lead technical discussions, and see things through without a lot of oversight.

What you'll do (responsibilities)

As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you'll be involved in developing new features, while elevating and optimizing our current platform at Moonvalley. Reporting to our Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Technical Design: participate in technical design discussions and decisions
• Implementation: Write clean scalable system-oriented code and implement software/products aligned with the growing demands of our customers. Test, debug, support and enhance software as per product specifications
• Code Reviews: Enforce best practices, code guidelines and ensure code quality is up to standards and compliant
• Communication: Thoroughly inquire about task details and descriptions to ensure tasks are fulfilled correctly. Share knowledge and thought leadership to the rest of the team, including technical direction and best practices
• Startup mindset: Familiar the culture of a startup and driving impact in a smaller organization

What we're looking for (qualifications)

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

• 5+ years of hand-on mobile development experience
• 5+ years of iOS and Android development experience
• Architect, build, test, and deliver native iOS and Android mobile apps from 0 to 1, also supporting responsive web-views
• Application lifecycle management on Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Experience with SQL and Postgres relational database is a plus
• Self-motivated, fast learner with attention to detail and quality
• Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Proven ability to project and meet estimated deadline
• Startup experience is a plus
