Description For eData Systems Infrastructure Engineer

Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP is seeking a Systems Infrastructure Engineer to manage and support their eData Practice Group's infrastructure, Discovery applications, and custom applications. This role combines DevOps engineering with specialized legal technology expertise, particularly in eDiscovery systems. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement across multiple major US cities.

The role demands a mix of traditional systems engineering skills and modern DevOps practices, requiring expertise in both Windows and Linux environments, along with strong database management capabilities. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining high-availability systems, performing critical infrastructure updates, and ensuring optimal performance of eDiscovery platforms.

Key technical areas include server management, database administration, system monitoring, and custom application development. The position requires hands-on experience with enterprise-level applications, particularly Kcura Relativity, and strong knowledge of security protocols including SAML and OpenID.

Responsibilities For eData Systems Infrastructure Engineer

  • Installation, configuration and upgrades to eData's hosted eDiscovery and custom applications
  • Technical troubleshooting and optimization of eDiscovery applications and systems
  • Manage Windows, Linux and enterprise SQL servers
  • Testing and deployment of operating system and application patches
  • Perform backups and restores of databases and applications
  • Monitoring of applications and servers
  • Reporting, monitoring and archival of project data
  • Migration of data between eDiscovery applications
  • Develop custom scripts and web applications
  • Provides level III support for client requests
  • Provides after-hours support when needed
  • Collaborates with software application vendors, IT and development teams

Requirements For eData Systems Infrastructure Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • Minimum of four (4) years professional experience
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, SAML, OpenID, TCP/IP, DNS and SQL
  • Advanced understanding of Infrastructure hardware, virtual servers, system monitoring
  • Experience administering Kcura Relativity
  • Experience with provisioning and/or migration of enterprise application workloads to cloud computing
