Python Software Engineer - Director (AVP-Equivalent)

Morgan Stanley's Data Analytics and Platform team within Institutional Securities Technology is seeking a Python Software Engineer Director to join their Risk and Data Analytics Centre in Paris. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art modern data stack using open-source technologies aligned with cloud strategy. The position involves building best-in-class solutions for Data APIs, Data Governance, Data Quality, Security & Privacy, and Architecture.

The role is part of Morgan Stanley's new Risk & Data Analytics Centre in Paris, supporting the growth strategy for Institutional Securities Group (ISG) both in EMEA and globally. The centre delivers cutting-edge, proprietary solutions to address rapidly changing business needs of the sales and trading franchise while providing a platform to foster innovation for markets businesses.

As a Python Software Engineer Director, you'll work closely with quants, traders, and stakeholders across multiple trading desks to design, develop, and deploy innovative data services. The role requires expertise in Python development, data processing technologies, and microservices architecture. You'll be responsible for providing support and design advice to users of the cross-asset platform and helping move financial assets, valuation models, and data pipelines to the platform.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in delivering complex IT projects, deep understanding of SDLC best practices, and proven track record in developing scalable Python applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
