Software Engineer - DevOps Champion

MotherDuck is seeking a Software Engineer - DevOps Champion to drive the evolution of development, deployment, and observability as they move towards general availability. The ideal candidate will be a key driver in establishing an engineering culture that delivers reliable, secure, and maintainable services.

Core Responsibilities:

• Drive the evolution of development, deployment, and observability
• Identify patterns and strategies to enable the engineering team to operate high-quality production services while maintaining flexibility
• Establish forward momentum across the engineering team
• Channel good intentions into sustained action by making it easy to do the right thing
• Drive accountability through engineering culture

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of experience in software development, SRE, or systems engineering
• Ability to influence and drive change across multiple teams
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools
• Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Bash)

Nice to have:

• Experience with SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and DuckDB
• Experience with C++ or other systems programming languages
