Description For Quality Engineer-2

Nationwide is seeking a Quality Engineer-2 to join their Pet Organization, focusing on business-critical pet applications that help partners and owners with sales and self-service. This role combines technical expertise with a passion for quality assurance in a Fortune 100 company environment. The position involves leading comprehensive testing efforts including automation, performance, API, accessibility, and security testing for web and mobile applications.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in test optimization and automation, with a strong background in agile methodologies. They'll be responsible for improving quality engineering practices, managing end-to-end testing processes, and ensuring all applications meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. The role supports PST hours for business partners in California.

Responsibilities For Quality Engineer-2

  • Lead quality testing for critical web and mobile pet applications
  • Perform automation, performance, API, ADA, security, and database testing
  • Manage end-to-end testing and provide detailed status reports
  • Improve Quality Engineering practices and processes
  • Plan and conduct software quality tests
  • Create automation for requirements and user stories
  • Validate test results and manage defect reporting
  • Coordinate test runs and test environment calendars
  • Execute release testing and plan for back-out testing

Requirements For Quality Engineer-2

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field (preferred)
  • Four or more years of experience with test optimization and automation processes and tools
  • Experience in testing for agile teams
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of test automation and optimization
  • TOSCA Automated Specialist certifications preferred
  • Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus
