Description For Data Visualization Engineer (L4) - Content & Studio

Netflix is seeking a Data Visualization Engineer (L4) for their Content & Studio team. This role is part of the Tools & Insights team within Data Science & Engineering, focusing on building and maintaining data storytelling products for Content, Marketing, and Advertising teams. The ideal candidate will own the user experience and data visualizations for Netflix's newly announced ads business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building beautiful web apps for data explanation and exploration
  • Owning projects and working with product managers and stakeholders
  • Making complex data intuitive to a broad audience
  • Designing and iterating on interfaces for the entire user experience
  • Working with data from various sources, including API endpoints and relational databases

The role requires experience with:

  • Node.js and front-end JavaScript (TypeScript encouraged)
  • Component frameworks like React or Vue.js
  • Data visualization (D3 preferred)
  • Designing user interfaces (experience with tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch is a plus)
  • Basic statistical knowledge and intuition

This position offers the opportunity to work on some of the most used internal tools at Netflix, bringing together multiple data sources, metrics, and predictive analytics to keep the business informed about the performance of their ads business.
