This role is crucial in maintaining and evolving Netflix's cloud communication backbone, including Edge Gateway and service mesh infrastructure.   • Improving developer experience and product experience in collaboration with team members and customers

Requirements For Distributed Systems Engineer (L5) - Service Mesh & API Gateway

Kubernetes
  • Experience in building and operating highly reliable distributed systems in a cloud environment
  • Understanding of Service Mesh technologies (Envoy-based service mesh, Istio, LinkerD)
  • Experience with Envoy proxy for AI use cases or building secure proxies
  • Experience with performance optimization for Service Mesh
  • Deep understanding of gRPC
  • Understanding of security concerns (DDoS, TLS, authentication, authorization, identity propagation)
  • Pragmatic thinking and ability to break down complex problems with little guidance
