Description For Associate Project Developer, New England

New Leaf Energy is seeking an Associate Project Developer to support our growing New England region. This position can be filled out of our Lowell or Boston, MA offices. We value in-person collaboration and offer a hybrid work environment. Hybrid employees work in the office at least two out of every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and are free to work from the office or from home on other days.

The Associate Project Developer (APD) contributes directly to the success of the company by effectively and efficiently identifying leads and screening project opportunities. The APD is a key support position to the project developers and is vital to New Leaf Energy's go-to-market strategy in the regions they are assigned. Our most accomplished APDs bring an enthusiasm for renewable development and have strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills, and a hunger for success.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Lead Prospecting: Using GIS-based efforts to target land parcels, identify and research leads, document opportunities in Salesforce CRM, and schedule initial meetings with landowners.
  2. Project Due Diligence/Entitlement Management: Conduct desktop reviews, manage on-site work, update project budgets, and monitor site discovery items.
  3. Project Closing: Record documents, coordinate contract amendments, prepare project data rooms, and support project teams during sale due diligence.
  4. Market Diligence: Spot trends and form hypotheses on future opportunities, requiring strong analytical thinking and experience with Excel or Google Sheets.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 to 5 years' experience preferred
  • Solar sales or development experience preferred
  • IT skills – proficiency in GIS tools, Microsoft Excel, Salesforce experience a plus

New Leaf Energy offers competitive compensation, including base salary, variable compensation, and an equity-like program. The base salary for this position in Lowell is $77,770.
