Description For Mainframe Developer-M6825

Nisum, a leading global digital commerce firm, is seeking a Mainframe Developer for their Johns Creek, Georgia location. This role is critical in maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing mainframe systems to ensure efficient and reliable operations.

As a Mainframe Engineer, you'll be responsible for system maintenance & support, upgrades & optimization, security & compliance, and disaster recovery & backup. You'll work closely with various IT teams, providing support for system upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex issues within the mainframe environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and supporting mainframe infrastructure
  • Performing regular system maintenance
  • Planning and executing system upgrades
  • Optimizing system performance
  • Implementing and maintaining security protocols
  • Managing data backup and restore processes
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in mainframe engineering, proficiency in languages like COBOL and JCL, and a strong understanding of mainframe database systems. Knowledge of zOS, experience with monitoring tools, and familiarity with security best practices are crucial.

This is a contract-to-hire position with a compensation range of $60-$65/hr on C2C basis.   • 7+ years of experience in mainframe engineering, support, or administration, particularly with IBM z/OS
  • Proficiency in mainframe languages and tools such as COBOL, JCL, Rexx, VSAM, and CICS
  • Strong understanding of mainframe database systems (e.g., DB2, IMS) and tools
  • Good Understanding of zOS
  • Experience with mainframe monitoring and performance tuning tools like CA-7, OMEGAMON, or Tivoli
  • Familiarity with mainframe security tools (e.g., RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret) and security best practices
  • Knowledge of SOAP/Restful Services
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Applications, or related field
