Description For Ground Program Software Engineer 3/4 (Command & Control)

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join their Payload and Ground Systems organization in Aurora, Colorado. This role is part of a large multi-site distributed ground system development program focused on delivering ground segment capabilities for restricted space programs.

The position sits within the Aurora Software and Controls Department, which comprises over 200 technical staff members across various roles. As a Software Engineer, you'll be working on command and control, mission planning and scheduling, and system infrastructure projects. The role involves developing software in C++, Python, and Perl within a RedHat Linux environment, following agile methodologies and working in 3-month increments using Atlassian tools.

The ideal candidate should have 5-8+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in C++ and scripting languages. An active TS/SCI clearance is required at the time of application, and candidates must be able to pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph. Experience in the space industry, particularly with command and control applications, is highly valued.
