Software Engineer (Test Set)

Northrop Grumman's Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team in Redondo Beach, CA. This role focuses on developing software for resource-constrained environments with real-time requirements for various flight, space, and ground systems.

The position involves working on complex data analysis, data routing, and control systems algorithms. The ideal candidate will have experience with various processors, memory, and I/O architectures, implementing both procedural and object-oriented software in C++. The role requires working with real-time operating systems like VxWorks and associated development tools.

As part of a larger engineering team, you'll be working in a process-oriented environment utilizing waterfall, spiral, or agile methodologies. The position requires strong communication skills and comfort working in a laboratory environment alongside talented engineers from various disciplines.

Key technical requirements include experience with Object-Oriented design, C++ programming, Python, and RTOS environments. The position requires an active DoD Secret security clearance and involves approximately 10% travel. Preferred qualifications include C# proficiency and experience with lab instruments such as signal generators, analyzers, and power sources.
