Description For Software Engineer, Big Data - New College Grad 2025

NVIDIA is seeking a Software Engineer for Data Engineering to join their team as a new college graduate in 2025. This role is at the heart of NVIDIA's data-driven decision-making initiative, focusing on building out the massive-volume data science platform that supports NVIDIA's cloud platform services.

As a Big Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing huge sets of data. Your primary focus will be on choosing efficient solutions for these purposes, then maintaining, implementing, and supervising them. This is an exciting opportunity to handle billions of events per day, work with multi-terabyte datasets, build systems at scale, and contribute to open source technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building data pipelines for collecting & processing data from multiple sources
  • Monitoring performance and advising on vital infrastructure changes
  • Building automation and integration tools for the self-service data science platform
  • Automating processes for measuring, testing, updating, monitoring, and alerting
  • Driving data quality for a global cloud service generating billions of data points daily

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles
  • Excellent software development skills in Java, Scala, Python, or C
  • Knowledge of highly-available big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) at scale
  • Experience with AWS and deploying to AWS EMR and other web services is a plus
