Backend Developer - Kraken Field

Kraken Technologies UK is seeking a Backend Developer for their Kraken Field team. This role is part of a multifunctional, multinational team focused on making Octopus the go-to name in green home installations. The ideal candidate will work on challenging technical problems, such as processing millions of meter readings daily and adapting Kraken to improve utilities like water and broadband.

Key responsibilities include:

• Solving complex design challenges in the UK utilities market
• Handling large-scale data processing and machine learning pipelines
• Contributing to the disruption of the UK energy market
• Working towards a lower carbon future

Required skills:

• Python
• Django (or equivalent web framework)
• Domain modelling
• HTTP and REST APIs
• Writing robust and fault-tolerant software
• Celery and async processing
• Postgres

Bonus skills:

• AWS
• Terraform, Packer, Consul
• React and Redux
