Lead Data Engineer - Gross Margin

Octopus Energy, a leading energy supplier serving over 7 million UK households, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for their Gross Margin team. This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership and financial reporting, where you'll be responsible for a critical pipeline that processes vast amounts of data to produce granular views of consumption, revenue, and costs.

The position offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of three engineers while driving the technical vision of a system that directly impacts business decisions and margin improvements across the UK operation and international markets. 1. Product Leadership - Designing and improving the Gross Margin pipeline

You'll be working with modern data technologies including SQL, Python, Databricks, dbt, and Spark, while contributing to initiatives that drive industry-leading Time Of Use tariffs and prevent multi-million pound write-offs.
