Analytics Engineer, Finance

OpenAI is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join their Finance Data team within the CFO Organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to build the foundation for scaling analytics across business functions in a rapidly growing AI company.

The position involves creating internal data products that drive operational efficiency and provide technical guidance on high-impact projects across Finance. As an Analytics Engineer, you'll be the subject-matter expert in financial and transactional data, supporting revenue accounting, compute & infrastructure cost accounting, and strategic finance workstreams.

The role requires a seasoned professional with 7+ years of experience who can handle the entire data stack at high transaction volume companies. You'll be working in a hybrid environment (3 days in office) in San Francisco, with competitive compensation including a $325K base salary plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

Key responsibilities include building data products, leading dimensional design, maintaining data marts, and creating executive-level dashboards. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL and Python skills, experience with distributed data stores, ETL pipelines, and visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.
