Full-Stack Engineer, Public Sector

OpenAI is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer for their Public Sector team, offering a competitive salary range of $255K-$405K plus equity. This role, based in San Francisco and Washington DC, focuses on deploying OpenAI's technology in public sector environments. The position requires 5+ years of engineering experience and an active US security clearance.

The role involves working across the entire software stack, developing customer-facing features for ChatGPT and OpenAI API, both on-premises and in the cloud. You'll be part of the Applied Engineering team, working at the intersection of research, engineering, product, and design to safely bring OpenAI's technology to consumers and businesses.

Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end development, partnering with cross-functional teams, and optimizing applications for scale. The ideal candidate should be proficient in JavaScript, React, Python, and have experience with Kubernetes and Terraform. While direct AI/ML experience isn't required, an interest in the field is essential.
