OpenAI is seeking a Sensor Signal Processing Engineer to join their Robotics team, focused on advancing general-purpose robotics and AGI-level intelligence in real-world settings. Responsibilities For Sensor Signal Processing Engineer, Robotics

  • Control sensors across myriad potential interfaces (cameras over CSI+I2C, IMUs via SPI+GPIO, acoustic sensors via I2S+I2C)
  • Handle sensor data sampling, triggering, and timestamping
  • Process data to maximize utility for downstream consumers
  • Work with hardware engineers to select and integrate sensors
  • Collaborate with model researchers to optimize end-to-end system performance

Requirements For Sensor Signal Processing Engineer, Robotics

Linux
  • Experience writing camera drivers and tuning ISP parameters
  • Experience with low-level peripherals on Linux systems
  • Knowledge of timers, timestamping, and time synchronization
  • Strong physics intuition about sensing modalities
  • Strong digital signal processing skills
  • Background in information theory
  • Strong math, physics, and software skills
