Description For Oracle Health - Federal Interface Engineer

At Oracle Health, we're seeking a Federal Interface Engineer with expertise in health information exchange (HIE) projects. This role involves installing enhancements, code patches, and upgrades to applications, providing tier 3 troubleshooting, and mentoring associates. You'll manage project activities, monitor progress, implement enhancements, and lead design reviews. The ideal candidate has experience with Oracle Health/Cerner HIE, SQL, Linux, XML, JSON, JVM, and HL7 web interfaces. Healthcare industry knowledge and experience with Cerner Foreign System Interface (FSI) are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities: • Lead Oracle health information exchange (HIE) projects • Provide tier 3 troubleshooting and issue resolution • Mentor and support team members • Manage project changes and communicate with stakeholders • Monitor project progress and manage risks • Implement enhancements aligned with project scope • Drive testing strategies with solution teams • Lead design and specification review sessions

Qualifications: • 8+ years of combined related work experience and higher education • 3+ years experience in system interface work • 5+ years additional relevant work experience or higher education • Oracle Health/Cerner HIE experience strongly preferred • Health Information Exchange (HIE) industry experience preferred • 2+ years experience with SQL, Linux, XML, JSON, JVM • Experience with HL7 web interfaces • Strong understanding of large systems architecture • Experience with triage and troubleshooting from system logs • Cerner Command Language (CCL) experience preferred

Responsibilities For Oracle Health - Federal Interface Engineer

  • Serve as engineer on Oracle health information exchange (HIE) projects, installing enhancements, code patches, and upgrades to application as suggested by developers and client
  • Provide tier 3 troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Mentor and support associates in daily tasks and troubleshooting
  • Manage changes and project activities and communicate with impacted engineers, project managers, vendors, etc.
  • Monitor project progress to assess and manage project risk and ensure quality assurance
  • Implement enhancements to align to project scope
  • Drive testing strategies with solution teams
  • Lead design and specification review sessions
  • Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements
  • May act as the team lead on projects

Requirements For Oracle Health - Federal Interface Engineer

  • At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education
  • At least 3 years' experience working within a system of systems and/or performing system interface work
  • At least 5 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education
  • Oracle Health/Cerner HIE experience strongly preferred
  • Health Information Exchange (HIE) industry experience (Commonwell, Carequality, eHealthexchange, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Two+ years' experience with SQL (SQL Developer tool preferred)
  • Two+ years' experience with Linux
  • Two+ years' experience with XML, JSON, JVM
  • Experience building/supporting HL7 web interfaces
  • Healthcare industry knowledge strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of large systems architecture and relationships between network, applications, Database, and Interfaces
  • Experience performing triage and troubleshooting from system logs
  • Experience with JSON files and web interfaces
  • Oracle Health/Cerner Foreign System Interface (FSI) experience a large plus
  • One year experience with Cerner Command Language (CCL) preferred
