Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a hands-on lead systems engineer for the Compute Data Plane team within the Compute Organization. This role focuses on developing core functions for Virtual Machine Infrastructure (VMI), Disaster Recovery Systems, OS Images, and Agents.
The team is responsible for:
- Designing and developing VM delivery for CPU and GPU workloads
- Managing OS images for Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, Debian and Windows
- Developing Oracle Cloud Agent for host manageability
- Implementing automated recovery systems for regional outages
- Health monitoring and diagnostic services
- Building ultra-high-performance VMI platform supporting millions of VMs

- Design and develop core functions for Virtual Machine Infrastructure
- Assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with software applications or operating systems
- Provide technical leadership to other software developers
- Specify, design and implement changes to existing software architecture
- Build automated recovery systems
- Develop and maintain high-performance VM platform
Requirements For Senior Member Technical Staff (JoinOCI-SDE)
- 3 to 5+ years of experience
- Strong background in computer architecture and operating systems
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Proficiency in English (read, write, and speak)
- Systems engineering expertise
- Knowledge of distributed systems
