Senior Software Developer - ML/AI

Oracle is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to drive the development of next-generation generative AI powered solutions for Oracle Analytics. This role combines software development with applied science, working at the intersection of cutting-edge AI research and practical implementation.

The position involves working closely with both scientists and engineers to implement, improve, and productionize state-of-the-art scientific solutions for Oracle's analytics platforms and applications. Key responsibilities include streamlining machine learning operations, building scalable experimentation infrastructure, and optimizing code for production performance.

As a senior member of the team, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Develop and maintain efficient tooling and infrastructure for research experimentation
• Implement model prototypes and optimize code for speed and scalability
• Run experiment series and ablation studies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
• Guide junior scientists and engineers on software development best practices
• Stay current with industry developments in AI computing
• Customize AI solutions for specific verticals or customers

The ideal candidate will have:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Deep expertise in generative AI model implementation and evaluation
• Strong background in MLOps, LLMs, prompt engineering, and data processing pipelines
• Proficiency in Python/PyTorch/Pyspark, MLFlow, SQL, Scikit-learn, Git, and Linux/Unix
• Experience with cloud computing environments (OCI, AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of frameworks like OpenSearch, LangChain/LangGraph
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills
