Description For Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Orb is revolutionizing how modern AI and software companies handle monetization through their next-generation billing infrastructure. Having secured $44.1M in funding from prestigious investors like Mayfield, Menlo Ventures, and Greylock, they're rapidly growing and shaping the future of usage-based pricing and billing automation.

As a Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining system reliability and scalability. This is a critical role as Orb's customers depend on their systems for revenue generation. You'll be responsible for the entire infrastructure stack, from event ingestion to API services, alerting, and invoicing systems.

The role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure engineering, with a focus on building resilient systems that can handle high-scale operations. You'll work on crucial initiatives like recovery mechanisms, tenant isolation, and load spike handling. The position offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies including Python, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and Kafka, though prior experience with these specific tools isn't mandatory.

Working in downtown San Francisco with a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office), you'll join a team that values customer centricity, attention to detail, and taking initiative. The company offers competitive compensation ($142.5K – $231K plus equity) and comprehensive benefits including excellent healthcare, unlimited PTO, and a 401k plan.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced infrastructure engineer who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and building scalable systems that directly impact business success. The role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies while helping shape the future of usage-based pricing in the software industry.
