As a Chemical Sensing Systems Engineer at Osmo, you'll be at the forefront of innovation in digital olfaction. Your role will involve designing, building, and integrating cutting-edge sensor solutions for real-world applications. This position requires a unique blend of expertise in chemical sensing principles, electronics, sensor fusion techniques, control systems, and machine learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and prototyping chemical sensing systems with custom electronics and sensor arrays.
  2. Applying sensor fusion techniques to combine data from multiple sensors.
  3. Integrating sensing systems into larger control and automation frameworks.
  4. Conceptualizing and executing automation solutions, including robotics, for high throughput data collection.
  5. Developing signal processing and machine learning algorithms to extract insights from sensor data.
  6. Conducting thorough prototype testing in both lab and field environments.
  7. Overseeing project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  8. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  9. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in chemical sensing.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in sensor development, systems integration, and automation. Strong programming skills (Python preferred) and experience with machine learning frameworks are essential. Knowledge of robotic systems and their programming is also valuable.

Requirements For Chemical Sensing Systems Engineer

Python

  • Strong programming skills (Python preferred)
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in sensor integration and application
  • Knowledge of robotic systems and their programming
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work 5 days a week in person at our New York, NY office & lab
