Description For Sr. Controls Engineer

Player Design, Inc., a leader in solid fuel energy systems and industrial drying systems, is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer for their Portland, Maine office or remote in the Eastern US. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and is crucial for PLC programming, program integration, panel design, and instrument selection. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience, strong PLC programming skills, and knowledge of industrial processes.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $120,000 to $150,000, along with benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, a SIMPLE IRA with 3% match, and vacation time. This role provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in the energy and industrial drying sectors.

Key responsibilities include developing engineering standards, managing projects, overseeing panel shop operations, and construction oversight. Responsibilities For Sr. Controls Engineer

  • PLC Programming, program integration, panel design and instrument selection
  • Development of engineering standards, project management, panel shop, and construction oversight

Requirements For Sr. Controls Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, E.E.T., or Associate's degree with prior design experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer, 7-10 years preferred
  • Strong PLC programming skills including PID Development, troubleshooting in Allen-Bradley systems
  • Knowledge and experience regarding industrial processes, controls integration strategies, and Motor Control Center design
  • Project management skills, including time management, project scheduling and cost tracking
  • Computer proficiency with typical Windows programs and AutoCad
  • Periodic travel is required to various sites
  • Travel to Portland, ME monthly (if not local)
