Description For Senior Pharmacy Hardware Engineer, Pharmacy Engineering Services

Innovation is at the core of what we do at PillPack, an Amazon company. We're seeking a Senior Pharmacy Hardware Engineer to join our Pharmacy Engineering Services team. In this role, you'll design, build, and innovate pharmacy equipment, workstations, and tools throughout our network. You'll manage integrated automation projects, lead design efforts, and work closely with various teams to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards. This position requires cross-functional knowledge of pharmacy operations systems, processes, and tools to define requirements and design hardware solutions. You'll be responsible for partnering with other engineering teams to ensure new equipment and modifications comply with all applicable codes and regulations. The role involves 25-50% travel based on business needs.

Key responsibilities include: • Designing and implementing integrated automation projects • Identifying and realizing solutions that improve output quality, throughput rates, and system utilization • Managing budgets and contractual documents • Building strong relationships with Pharmacy leadership and various stakeholders • Interpreting and applying regulations, codes, and standards • Developing and applying formal safety analysis methods

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, knowledge of regional and international regulations, and an understanding of control systems, environmental, and ergonomic design principles.   • Design, build, improve, and innovate on pharmacy equipment, workstations, and tools
  • Manage, design, and implement integrated automation projects
  • Identify and realize solutions that improve output quality and system efficiency
  • Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors
  • Develop and manage budgets and contractual documents
  • Build strong relationships with Pharmacy leadership and stakeholders
  • Interpret and apply regulations, codes, and standards
  • Manage projects requiring certifications compliant with regulations
  • Work with safety teams to specify safety requirements for projects
  • Develop and apply formal safety analysis methods

Requirements For Senior Pharmacy Hardware Engineer, Pharmacy Engineering Services

  • 5+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation
  • Bachelor's degree
