Pinterest's Trust & Safety Tools team is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to build tooling that keeps Pinners safe and inspired. As part of this role, you'll be responsible for supporting operations agents, analysts, and other engineers with content safety efforts through internal tools for scaled content moderation. You'll work across the stack using Python, TypeScript, and MySQL to build and improve web-based tooling serving thousands of agents and millions of users. Key responsibilities include optimizing agent productivity, defining the content safety tooling roadmap, leading projects in partnership with various teams, and serving on an on-call rotation. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience with Python, JavaScript, and MySQL, can mentor junior engineers, and is comfortable with ambiguous technical problems. This position offers the flexibility of remote work under Pinterest's PinFlex model.
Responsibilities For Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack
- Leverage Python, Typescript and MySQL skills to work across the stack
- Build, maintain and improve web-based tooling for agents and users
- Optimize agent productivity by improving operational efficiency
- Define and establish the direction of the content safety tooling roadmap
- Lead key projects, partnering with various teams across Pinterest
- Serve on an on-call rotation (roughly 1 week of every 8) to support tools
Requirements For Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack
- 8+ years experience with Python, Javascript, and MySQL
- Experience mentoring more junior engineers
- Comfortable diving into ambiguous technical problems
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience
