Description For Junior Software Engineer (Remote)

Join PolicyMe, a remote-first, Toronto-based InsurTech startup revolutionizing the Canadian insurance landscape. As a Junior Software Engineer (Fullstack), you'll be at the forefront of building, architecting, and scaling PolicyMe's platform to create diverse user experiences. You'll work on key features and systems to drive PolicyMe's growth into a leading insurance brand in Canada.

Our tech stack includes React, Redux, Python, Webpack, Gatsby, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS. You'll be responsible for developing new product features in our React-based web application, contributing to our custom UI component library, enhancing backend APIs, and participating in technical design discussions.

We're looking for candidates with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, proficiency in web development technologies, familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments, and strong problem-solving skills. You should be able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment and possess excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Requirements For Junior Software Engineer (Remote)

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, debugging and analytical skills
