Description For Project Engineer

PRIME Electric is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in the Greater Seattle Area. As a Project Engineer, you will work on-site, assisting Project Managers and Field Management in planning, managing, and completing Commercial Construction projects. Your responsibilities will include coordinating project requirements, assisting with permit applications, maintaining project files, tracking submittals, monitoring schedules, and supporting various project management tasks. This role offers significant career growth opportunities for those interested in building a career in Electrical Project Management.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Construction Management or STEM, or 2+ years of electrical construction industry experience. Strong computer skills, familiarity with project management software, and knowledge of electrical trade and construction principles are essential. Responsibilities For Project Engineer

  • Assist in monitoring project planning, execution and closure
  • Help with permit applications and scheduling inspections
  • Establish and maintain project management files and document control
  • Research, acquire and collate submittals and Operations & Maintenance manual materials
  • Track incoming and outgoing submittals
  • Maintain drawing sets and post updates
  • Coordinate, log and file all project correspondence
  • Assist in creating and monitoring field installation work packages and schedules
  • Help with implementing and entering Purchase Orders (POs) and PO Changes
  • Assist in estimating and tracking Potential Change Orders (PCOs)
  • Write and track Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Help with job billing preparation and substantiations
  • Attend regular project status meetings
  • Support Project Management and Field Management with various tasks

Requirements For Project Engineer

  • Degree in Construction Management or STEM and/or 2 years electrical construction industry experience
  • Experience with software-based estimating, accounting, scheduling and project management systems
  • Knowledge of electrical trade and/or construction related background
  • Understanding of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles
  • Capability to perform or learn electrical estimating
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and in a group
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
