Description For Computer Vision Systems Engineer

CV Systems group in Qualcomm develops visual analytics solutions and IP for all of Qualcomm's Snapdragon platforms used in mobile, automotive, VR/AR and IoT applications. The team's scope includes algorithm and architecture design for video analytics, computer vision and machine learning with power and performance optimization.

The selected candidate, along with his/her colleagues and other team members, will have responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:

  • Research and develop a broad range of computer vision algorithms including object detection, motion analysis, depth estimation, 3D reconstruction etc. with performance and power efficiency
  • Define systems architecture for computer vision solutions including data flow, task partition, user interface and systems interoperation
  • Design and implement simulator for computer vision functions to be used for algorithm evaluation, hardware verification, and customer training
  • Work on DSP or NSP optimization of computer vision algorithms
  • Define methodology for performance and power analysis and develop innovative technologies to reduce memory bandwidth, processing latency, power consumption
  • Collaborate with other teams to commercialize the technologies and provide strong customer support to enable the best visual analytics experiences

Qualifications:

  • Experience with computer vision and machine learning
  • Experience with OpenCV library
  • Proficiency in C/C++
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills to develop new computer vision algorithms
  • Strong communication skills
  • Work experience in feature detector and descriptors, motion analysis, depth estimation is a plus
  • DSP/Neon/GPU optimization and multi-thread programming is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR
  • Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR
  • PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
