Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a CPU Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to join their CPU Silicon Bring-Up Team within the CPU organization. This role represents an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware and software engineering, focusing on the critical phase of bringing new CPU designs to life.

The position involves working with cutting-edge CPU technology, where you'll be responsible for preparing and supporting the bring-up of every SoC using custom CPUs—from first silicon through productization. This role requires a unique blend of technical skills, combining hardware understanding with software expertise.

Key responsibilities include developing CPU bring-up and validation test plans, working with pre-silicon platforms (emulation and FPGA), coordinating with various teams for CPU bring-up, and conducting detailed debugging of silicon failures. You'll also be involved in developing test strategies and collaborating with design teams to improve future CPU bring-up efforts.

The ideal candidate should have a strong educational background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, coupled with relevant experience in silicon validation and bring-up. Expertise in embedded firmware development, software toolchains, and microprocessor architecture is essential.

Responsibilities For CPU Post-Silicon Validation Engineer - Multiple Levels

  • Collaborate with CPU design and verification teams to develop CPU bring-up and validation test plans
  • Prepare for CPU bring-up through pre-silicon work on emulation and FPGA platforms
  • Coordinate with SoC bring-up and software teams to plan CPU bring-up
  • Triage and debug failures on silicon
  • Develop test content and strategies to validate the CPU on silicon
  • Collaborate with CPU verification teams to reproduce silicon failures
  • Partner with design team to propose and architect new debug features

Requirements For CPU Post-Silicon Validation Engineer - Multiple Levels

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years experience
  • Experience in implementing embedded firmware in Assembly and C/C++
  • Familiarity with software toolchains including assemblers, C compilers, Makefiles
  • Strong understanding of microprocessor architecture
  • Knowledge of power management and physical design concepts
  • Experience in silicon bring-up and validation of CPU features
  • Experience debugging functional, power, performance, and physical design issues
