Description For GPU Modelling Engineer - Staff

Qualcomm, a leader in mobile technology, is seeking a Staff GPU Modelling Engineer to join their Graphics System team in Bangalore. This role focuses on developing simulators for next-generation graphics cores, specifically for their industry-leading Adreno GPU, which dominates the smartphone market. The position combines expertise in graphics systems, GPU architecture, and low-power optimization to enable emerging technologies in VR, IoT, AI, drones, and autonomous driving.

The role requires deep technical expertise in GPU architecture and graphics programming, with responsibilities including developing accurate functional models, performing verification and validation, and working across multiple teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern 3D graphics pipelines, graphics APIs (DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan), and strong C++ programming skills.

Responsibilities For GPU Modelling Engineer - Staff

  • Develop bitwise accurate functional models (C-model) using C/C++ to simulate new architectures and solutions
  • Develop solid test suites and perform functional verification & validation with the C-Model and RTL simulation
  • Perform conformance tests, stress & random tests and stabilize GPUs & Compute systems
  • Work with architects, designers, driver, and compiler teams

Requirements For GPU Modelling Engineer - Staff

Python
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience
  • Good understanding of modern 3D graphics pipeline
  • Programming experience in graphics or compute using API like DirectX, OpenGL OpenCL, Vulkan
  • Programming experience in modeling using C++ and good understanding of computer/GPU architecture and pipeline
  • Debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write clean, professional & maintainable code in C++
