Description For Principal Memory Interface Systems Engineer

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a global leader in wireless communication technology, is seeking a Principal Memory Interface Systems Engineer to join their Central Hardware Systems Group within the Global Manufacturing Technology and Operations unit. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge memory interface systems and technologies.

The position involves working with memory interface IP system architecture, interface standards, and system-technology co-optimization. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing solutions for DDR5, LPDDR5/6, and HBM3/4 memory interfaces, while collaborating with cross-functional teams across platform architecture, process technology, package engineering, IP, and SoC development.

As a Principal Engineer, you'll lead efforts in memory interface roadmap definition, package/foundry technology co-optimization, and signal/power integrity analysis. The role requires deep technical expertise in memory systems design and the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries. You'll be instrumental in translating product requirements into memory IP system design specifications and supporting silicon bring-up and debug efforts.

  • Memory interface landscape and roadmap alignment with Internal and External IP providers
  • PHY/Component models for early system exploration and Signal/Power Integrity solution space definition
  • Translate product requirements to Memory IP system design spec

Requirements For Principal Memory Interface Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering + 8 years experience, or Master's + 7 years, or PhD + 6 years
  • Knowledge of Memory-DDR5, LPDDR5/6, HBM3/4 standards
  • Experience in high-speed Memory PHY or systems design
  • Familiarity with Memory protocol and link training sequences
  • Experience with Ansys, Cadence, Keysight, MATLAB Tools, Hspice, Verilog
