Description For Processor RTL Design Engineer

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Processor RTL Design Engineer to join their innovative team working on Hexagon cores, which are central to Qualcomm's multi-tier mobile SOC, IoT, and Automotive roadmap. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of processor design and development.

The position focuses on the development of high-performance, low-power Hexagon cores that are crucial for various applications including Audio, Modem, Machine learning, IoT, and Automotive. As an RTL Design Engineer, you'll be deeply involved in the ASIC design flow from RTL to GDS2, requiring expertise in advanced technologies and methodologies.

The role demands a comprehensive understanding of RTL design, synthesis, static timing analysis, formal verification, PLDRC, clock domain crossing, and low power techniques. You'll work closely with multiple teams, including architecture, physical design, low power, and verification teams, contributing to the entire development lifecycle of processor designs.

Key responsibilities include defining micro-architecture for various blocks of the Hexagon DSP core, developing RTL for multiple logic blocks, ensuring proper integration with SoC, and working on timing closure and power optimization. You'll also collaborate on test plans and coverage closure with the verification team.

Responsibilities For Processor RTL Design Engineer

  • Work with architecture team to define micro-architecture for Hexagon DSP core and sub-system
  • Develop RTL for multiple logic blocks of Hexagon DSP core and sub-system for SoC integration
  • Run frontend tools to check for linting, clock domain crossing
  • Work with physical design team on design constrain and timing closure
  • Work with low power team on power optimization
  • Collaborate with verification team on test plan, coverage plan, and coverage closure

Requirements For Processor RTL Design Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering with 2+ years experience
  • OR Master's degree with 1+ year experience
  • OR PhD in related field
  • 2+ years of experience with high-performance microprocessor design
  • Practical experience with RTL development
  • Knowledge of microprocessor architecture
  • Experience with L2 cache, memory coherency, and bus protocol
  • Familiarity with low power design
  • Understanding of ASIC design flow from RTL to GDS2
