Description For Software Engineer I, Foundation - Seattle and Reston

At Qualtrics, we're building the foundation of experience management through our Data Platform team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an entry-level software engineer to join a team that supports all Qualtrics experience management products. Our platform handles critical responsibilities including data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics at scale, with a focus on high availability, throughput, data consistency, and security.

As a Software Engineer I on the Foundation team, you'll be working on systems that enable customer, employee, brand, and product experience teams to rapidly develop data-driven workflows. You'll be challenged with high-impact services that have significant scale and reliability requirements, gaining invaluable experience in areas such as caching, routing, queue management, and event-driven systems.

The role combines hands-on technical work with collaborative team engagement. You'll participate in design and architecture discussions, requirements gathering, full stack development, operations, quality assurance, and performance optimization. The team values intellectual curiosity and encourages questioning existing approaches to find better solutions.

Working in our hybrid environment, you'll spend three days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) in our thoughtfully designed offices, fostering collaboration and innovation, with flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week. You'll benefit from our comprehensive development program, including the QED (Qualtrics Engineer Development) Program that allows engineers to invest 10% of their time each quarter in career advancement.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in software engineering to work with cutting-edge technologies, solve complex problems at scale, and make a significant impact on a platform used by thousands of businesses worldwide. You'll be supported by a team that prioritizes learning and growth, with regular opportunities to interact with colleagues through quarterly offsites and collaborative projects.
