Our client, a large government customer, is seeking an Air Support Engineer to join their team. The role is based in Bristol with on-site working expected 2 days/week, and some occasional travel to other UK sites. The role requires SC Clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.
Initial requirements are scheduled to run until 30/09/2025 and offer a rate up to £550/day.
IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Brief Team Description
- The Air Platform Systems Delivery Team (APS DT) currently sits within the ASET portfolio until Feb 2025 and is managed by a L5 Programme Manager.
- The UK Defensive Aids (DAS) team (under Platform Protection) is headed up by a L4 Project Manager with the In-Service element headed up by a L4 Operations Manager.
- The EAD (Expendable Active Decoys) team is an addition to the APS delivery team portfolio and will be managing the procurement (assurance and approvals, evidence generation and service delivery) covering the management of the EAD assets to be procured under this requirement.
- The EAD project delivery element will sit under the UK DAS team L4. The L3 Engineer requested in this role will sit under the APS DT Chief Engineer.
Main Responsibilities
- Engineering Management Plan and associated supporting Artefacts.
- Engineering support to the product delivery.
- Working with stakeholders to help formulate the in-service delivery of the EAD procurement contract.
- Advice and support to the contractor in order to meet the system requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Air Platform background/understanding.
- Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer.
- Working knowledge of the Guidance to Engineering Activity and Review (GEAR) process.
- Working knowledge of the ASIMS and Air Engineers Toolkit (AET).
- Cyber Security (Secure By Design) understanding.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Electronic Warfare (EW) background in Air.
- Experience of Defensive Aids Systems.
