Description For Senior Battery Pack Design Engineer

Re Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Battery Pack Design Engineer to lead the design and development of industry-changing battery packs. This role involves leading teams of multi-discipline engineers and making key decisions to bring a portfolio of Re battery packs to market across various industries. The position encompasses all program cycles, including concept design, prototyping, detailed analysis, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, and testing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading product design and development for Re battery packs
  • Communicating across engineering teams to make critical program decisions
  • Identifying core issues, developing solutions, and effectively communicating impacts
  • Creating and delivering CAD models and presentations to customers
  • Developing supporting materials such as bill of materials, assembly, or installation procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with standards and battery pack performance needs
  • Working multi-functionally to verify battery software and hardware meet system and pack requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of system design experience for lithium-ion battery packs or related technologies
  • Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or related industries
  • Experience in design, development, and testing of battery systems for electrified propulsion or stationary energy storage
  • Excellent communication skills and strong technical communication abilities
  • Self-direction with strong leadership, team building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with CAD programs such as Catia or Solidworks
  • Familiarity with analysis packages like FEMAP and NASTRAN
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar field

Additional preferred qualifications include an M.S. degree, project management experience, BMS software development experience, and mathematical modeling of batteries.

Requirements For Senior Battery Pack Design Engineer

Java
  • 3 or more years of system design for lithium-ion battery packs or related technologies
  • Minimum 6 years of engineering experience for automotive, aerospace, industrial or related industries
  • Experience in design, developing and testing of battery systems for electrified propulsion or stationary energy storage
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including strong technical communication
  • Self-directed with strong leadership, team building, collaboration, organizational skills, and demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Basic understanding of UL, or similar, and regulatory certification processes
  • Proficient with CAD programs such as Catia or Solidworks
  • Familiar with analysis packages such as FEMAP and NASTRAN (or equivalent)
  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar with strong emphasis on practical work
