Description For Autonomy Engineer

REGENT is revolutionizing coastal transportation with their innovative seaglider technology - a groundbreaking wing-in-ground-effect craft that combines the speed of aircraft (180 mph) with the efficiency of maritime vessels. As an Autonomy Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge autonomous systems that enable seamless navigation across multiple operating modes: hull-borne, hydrofoil-borne, and wing-borne.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex autonomous systems that operate in both air and maritime environments. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated control algorithms, conducting rigorous testing through simulations and real-world trials, and ensuring safety-critical requirements are met throughout the development process.

Working with a cross-disciplinary team of passionate engineers, you'll help shape the future of coastal transportation. The position requires strong technical expertise in autonomy, controls, and embedded systems, with hands-on experience in C++/Python programming and safety-critical software development.

REGENT offers a comprehensive benefits package including full health coverage, 401(k) matching, and equity participation. The company culture emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, you'll be part of a team that's not just building vehicles, but creating an entirely new category of transportation that promises to connect coastal communities more efficiently and sustainably than ever before.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on complex technical challenges, enjoys hands-on engineering work, and wants to make a lasting impact on the future of transportation. The role combines cutting-edge autonomy development with practical implementation, requiring both innovative thinking and rigorous attention to safety and reliability.
