Description For Senior Software Engineer, Data Acquisition and Control

Relativity Space is revolutionizing the aerospace industry through their innovative approach to rocket manufacturing. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Data Acquisition and Control team, you'll be at the forefront of developing critical systems that operate their groundbreaking 3D printed engines and launch vehicles.

The role involves building and maintaining real-time data acquisition, monitoring, and control systems that are essential for both test facilities and launch operations. You'll be responsible for developing automation frameworks, managing software configuration and deployment, and ensuring robust system integration.

Key responsibilities include creating efficient data acquisition and processing tools, implementing continuous integration systems, and collaborating across disciplines to translate requirements into viable software solutions. You'll also support test readiness reviews and participate in the growth of the engineering team through recruitment and mentorship.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in distributed systems, databases, and full-stack development, with experience in languages like C#/.NET, SQL, Python, and JavaScript. Knowledge of industrial automation systems, SCADA, and communication protocols like DDS, MQTT, or OPC-UA is highly valued.

This position offers the unique opportunity to directly impact the development of next-generation space technology while working in a dynamic startup environment. The role requires occasional travel (25%) to Stennis, MS for LA-based candidates and comes with relocation assistance.

Join Relativity Space to be part of their mission to revolutionize manufacturing and make humanity's multiplanetary future a reality. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, solve complex engineering challenges, and contribute to the development of the first entirely 3D printed rocket to Mars.
