Founding Backend Engineer

As a Founding Backend Engineer, you'll have the autonomy to design, develop, and build highly scalable, high-performance applications that will shape the future of compliance software. You'll work directly with the founding team to influence our roadmap and tackle complex challenges that have meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and build backend services that scale to handle high volumes of traffic
• Solve real-world problems in financial crime detection and risk management
• Write high-quality, testable code that powers our platform
• Take ownership of projects and break down complex problems into implementable solutions
• Work across modern stacks and integrate cutting-edge AI/LLM technology
• Review code and maintain standards of excellence
• Collaborate in-person with the team 4 days per week in Dubai

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience building web applications with TypeScript, Go, Java, Python or similar
• Strong foundation in relational databases and NoSQL technologies
• Experience with scalable architectures and system design
• Proven track record leading projects and working cross-functionally
• Customer-focused mindset and attention to detail
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Excellent communication skills
