Description For RF Test Engineer I/II

Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, building and launching rockets and satellites for vital space missions. We're seeking an RF Test Engineer I/II to join our Space Systems team in Long Beach, CA. This role is crucial for testing radio frequency components and systems used in satellites.

As an RF Test Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing test setups, developing automated test scripts, and creating test plans and procedures. You'll work closely with RF engineers, conduct tests, analyze data, and produce comprehensive reports. Your role will also involve supporting production technicians and the overall production process.

We're looking for candidates with a 4-year Engineering degree in Electronics, Communications, RF, or a related field. For the RF Test Engineer II position, you should have at least 2 years of experience in RF device/system testing. Strong knowledge of RF components, test principles, and proficiency with equipment like Vector Network Analyzers is essential.

Responsibilities For RF Test Engineer I/II

  • Design test setups
  • Develop test scripts to automate tests
  • Develop test plans and procedures
  • Seek input from RF engineers as necessary to support test setup design/analysis
  • Arrange/purchase test equipment and components as needed
  • Establish test setups
  • Conduct testing
  • Post-process test data
  • Develop test reports
  • Train and support production technicians
  • Support the production process

Requirements For RF Test Engineer I/II

Python
  • 4-year Engineering degree in Electronics, Communications, RF, or other technical discipline
  • 2+ years' experience across all aspects of RF device/system testing including test planning, conduct, and reporting
  • Working knowledge of common RF components such as splitters, attenuators, amplifiers and frequency converters and their general RF performance characteristics
  • Solid theoretical understanding of RF test and measurement principles
  • Highly proficient in using RF test and measurement equipment such as; Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) and spectrum analyzer
