As a Lead Edge Deployment Engineer, you'll be responsible for building the infrastructure layer that enables logistics software to operate in tactical edge environments. The role focuses on designing and automating deployment pipelines across heterogeneous hardware, from bare metal servers to embedded devices.
You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and various monitoring tools while ensuring systems operate effectively in air-gapped and low-bandwidth environments. The position requires deep technical expertise in Linux systems, networking, and infrastructure automation, with opportunities to lead and mentor other engineers.
The role offers a unique opportunity to impact military logistics operations through technology, working with both military and commercial operators. You'll be part of a team building TyrOS, an advanced software platform enhancing tactical and operational logistics. The position combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring expertise in multiple programming languages and infrastructure tools.

Responsibilities For Edge Deployment Engineer
- Lead the design, automation, and standardization of edge provisioning pipeline
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Ansible, Terraform, and custom tools
- Architect containerized deployment systems with Docker and Kubernetes
- Manage fleet-wide observability and health using Prometheus, Grafana, and LGTM stack
- Build and operate hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and software-in-the-loop (SITL) lab
- Collaborate with backend engineers, platform leads, and operations teams
- Guide junior engineers and define best practices for system hardening
Requirements For Edge Deployment Engineer
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Linux systems engineering
- Deep fluency in Linux internals, bootstrapping, virtualization, and system-level configuration
- Expertise with bare metal, VMware, and containerized deployments in non-cloud environments
- Programming ability in Bash and Python; production experience in Go is highly desirable
- Advanced knowledge of networking, including routing, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalling
- Experience deploying observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki, or equivalent
