Summer 2025 Intern - Site Reliability Engineer

Salesforce is seeking an engineering candidate to join the Site Reliability organization for a Summer 2025 internship. The role involves working closely with Infrastructure and R&D teams to monitor cloud service availability and swiftly repair service-impacting issues. Key responsibilities include detecting and resolving incidents, monitoring services, proactively addressing issues, and contributing to data security through various initiatives. The intern will be part of the GovCloud Observability Team, focusing on ensuring proper monitoring and alerting for the Govcloud infrastructure and services.

Key aspects of the role:

• Maintain health of supporting systems for customer-facing services
• Participate in incident management and problem management
• Ensure compliance with internal policies
• Collaborate with technical staff to solve issues
• Contribute to team development and stay updated on industry innovations
• Work on automating detection and resolution of recurring issues
• Help improve processes to reduce operations and engineering toil

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen without dual citizenship, able to meet government screening standards
• Enrolled in BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
• Attending a College or University in North America
• Systems engineering experience in enterprise scale internet service
• Expertise in TCP/IP technologies and CLI enterprise support of Unix variants
• Strong understanding of monitoring security systems and administration
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in Incident Management and ITIL service operations
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 team and be on call if required
• Experience with AWS/C2S infrastructure and systems
• Scripting skills in Python, Go, or other languages

Preferred qualifications include experience with automated deployment, monitoring systems, Java applications, Kubernetes, Agile processes, and concepts of resilience engineering.
