Staff Software Engineer, Smart Trailer & Connected Equipment

Samsara is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment business unit, one of their fastest-growing product lines. This role focuses on developing solutions that help customers manage trailers and unpowered equipment through IoT technology. As a full stack engineer, you'll work on tracking utilization of equipment, implementing sensor monitoring for loads and temperature, and creating asset tracking solutions.

The position offers an opportunity to make real-world impact across industries that power the global economy, working with over 2.3 million IoT devices deployed to customers worldwide. The role requires expertise in cloud-scale web services, strong coding abilities, and leadership experience.

The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 4 years in an architect or leadership role. Experience with geolocation data, BLE, and maps is highly valued, as is expertise in building and scaling products from zero to one. You'll work closely with ML engineers and various teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that drive business impact.
