Description For Engineer I 74505

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Engineer I to join their team in Austin, TX. This role is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level engineer to work in one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the world.

The Engineer I will work alongside a talented team of professionals, focusing on establishing and maintaining world-class processes and equipment, implementing yield enhancement, and identifying complex problems and solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the wafer fabrication process
  • Qualifying wafer fabrication processes on new tools
  • Coordinating process qualifications and equipment downtime
  • Analyzing data to identify trends and make processing decisions
  • Making adjustments when process parameters are exceeded
  • Executing in-line changes to processes or equipment
  • Communicating technical information through presentations
  • Continuously revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Colloids, Polymers and Surfaces, or a related field. They should have completed graduate-level coursework or projects involving:

  1. Defect monitoring, characterization, and root cause analysis
  2. Advanced Process Control
  3. Stop loss reduction and improved cycle time
  4. Design of experiments
  5. Statistical design and data analysis using Minitab, Python
  6. Lean Manufacturing
  7. Principles of growth and processing of semiconductors
  8. Production and supply chain optimization
