Description For GPU Design Verification Engineer

Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) are seeking a GPU Design Verification Engineer to join their team of excellence in Intellectual Property development. This role focuses on verifying functionality and performance of cutting-edge GPU designs for high-performance computing devices across mobile, automotive, and custom market segments.

The position offers an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art GPU technology, developing comprehensive verification plans and testbenches using advanced tools and methodologies. As part of the GPU Design Verification team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Samsung's mobile GPU through various verification levels including Graphic Code, Subsystem Verification, and Formal Verification.

The role combines technical expertise in GPU architecture and verification with collaborative teamwork, as you'll be working with cross-functional teams across design, architecture, and software. The position offers significant growth potential within a globally diverse team, with the backing of Samsung's industry-leading innovation capabilities.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $144,345 to $257,336 base salary, complemented by comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and various other perks such as free onsite lunch and tuition assistance. The position is based in either Austin, TX or San Jose, CA, requiring on-site presence.

Responsibilities For GPU Design Verification Engineer

  • Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans for GPU designs
  • Design, develop, and maintain verification testbenches using SystemVerilog, UVM, and C++
  • Create complex test scenarios to validate GPU features, performance, and functionality
  • Analyze results and debug complex GPU designs
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align verification efforts
  • Develop and improve verification methodologies
  • Maintain documentation of verification plans, testbenches, and results

Requirements For GPU Design Verification Engineer

Python
  • 10+ years of experience with Bachelor's degree or 8+ with Master's or 6+ with PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in GPU design verification
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog, UVM, and scripting languages
  • Strong understanding of GPU architecture and graphics pipelines
  • Experience with industry-standard verification tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Graphics API: Vulcan, GLES, OpenCL (preferred)
  • Experience with performance profiling and analysis (preferred)
  • Hardware modeling experience (preferred)
