Sandvik, a global leader in electrification, automation, and digitalization, is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their Digitalization and Automation team in Tampere, Finland. This role focuses on developing fully automated and electrified robotic mining technologies, including machine vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence solutions. The position is based at their state-of-the-art Test Mine facility, which simulates real mining conditions for technology development and validation.
The role involves leading machine learning and AI projects, deploying solutions to both cloud and edge environments, and enhancing Sandvik's AI capabilities across all divisions. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, including their autonomous drilling and hauling concept machines like Amelia and AutoMine® Concept. The position requires implementing MLOps and DevOps practices, providing technical guidance, and hands-on work in their test environments.

The ideal candidate will have an M.Sc. in a relevant field, 3+ years of MLOps experience, and strong technical skills in cloud computing, data science, and containerization. Requirements For Machine Learning Engineer
- M.Sc. in computer science, data science, or engineering
- 3+ years of experience with modern cloud-based MLOps development, preferably in Azure ML
- Proficiency in deployment, testing, and inference of edge applications
- Strong skills in cloud and data science
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Proficiency in data set management and ML pipelines
- Experience in managing and coordinating outsourced projects
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in English
