Description For Mission Operations Engineer (Product)

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to support the hands-on deployment of autonomous service vessels for the Department of Defense (DoD). This role combines software engineering expertise with practical maritime operations, requiring frequent on-water testing and system optimization.

The position involves developing and maintaining software for autonomous surface vessels using C++ and Rust in a Linux environment, while also conducting field deployments and real-world testing. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, data scientists, and maritime experts to enhance autonomous vessel capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about autonomous systems and maritime technology. The role requires both technical expertise and physical capabilities, as you'll be working directly with vessels in marine environments. You'll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues in the field, implementing solutions to enhance system robustness, and contributing to the ongoing development of cutting-edge autonomous maritime solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong software development skills, experience with embedded systems, and the ability to work effectively in challenging field conditions. Knowledge of maritime operations, autonomous systems, and DoD requirements is highly valued. The role offers comprehensive benefits including full medical coverage, equity options, and competitive salary.

This position requires up to 100% travel and the ability to work in marine environments for extended periods. You must be able to swim, handle physical demands, and work in various weather conditions.
